For just over a year, Jacob has been working with The Challenge to deliver workshops for their summer & autumn NCS (National Citizens Service) programmes. This involved engaging up to 90 young people aged 15-17 in workshops on effective storytelling, offering creative support as they designed projects and accompanying selected groups on their community partner visits as a support for the team mentor.

Presenting Experience

Jacob has been presenting on local radio for over 6 years, starting at age 15 at TCR FM Tamworth, they have grown their audio career substantially over the last 3 years, completing Producer/Presenter training at the Bauer Academy, completing work experience at the Bauer City imaging hub and gaining the role of output producer at Gaydio North West.

In early 2018 they started exploring the world of podcasting, setting up ‘Gay Culture’ which soon became ‘Queer Culture’ and while on a hiatus at the moment, the episodes still rack in around a hundred listeners per week. Podcast soon became second nature and before long they got their first commission, a 20 minute long exploration of dating as a non-binary person for National Student Pride’s podcast #QueerAF.

Girlfriends, Boyfriends & Theyfriends took a dive into the world of dating as a non-binary person, it took Jacob 2 months to produce and features interviews with some incredible LGBTQ+ people. The episode is available now on the #QueerAF podcast feed, which can be found wherever you get your podcasts!

Around the same time as this podcast coming out, Jacob was asked to cover The Exchange on Gaydio’s North West network. Since then Jacob has covered The Exchange multiple times.
